Exposed: List showing how Tribalism is deeply entrenched in Jubilee

If this is what it means to win an election in Africa, it is no wonder elections are a life and death matter to some. How not when those who win and form government make it a winner-take-it-all and loser-take nothing-at-all affair?
As dismaying as this is, it seems to be the guiding dictum of the Jubilee administration if the ethnic makeup of the government is anything to go by. One does not need to cast more than a cursory glance at the government to notice that it is heavily skewed towards members of the two topdogs’ communities.
Indeed, CNYAKUNDI.COM has  privileged information to the effect that tribalism in Jubilee administration will form the third prong in Raila Odinga’s assault on the government as he engages heavier gears towards the crucial last year of Uhuru Kenyatta’s first term.
According to our moles embedded deep in Raila’s innermost of inner circles, the former prime minister has a list of civil servants he will soon unleash to illustrate to Kenyans that Uhuru and his deputy William Ruto are allegedly aiding the cancer of tribalism.
According to the Raila dossier that this newspaper saw, the Kikuyu community boasts 33,783 of government jobs representing 23.4pc of the total, while the Kalenjins, the third most populous have 23,649 or 16.3pc. The Kikuyu and the Kalenjin communities combined hold 39.7pc of state jobs leaving the other 4o communities with only 60.3pc share.
The document further reveals that the Luo, the fourth largest group have 18,383 or 12.7pc, the Luhyas, the second most populous control 18,106 which is 12.5pc, Kamba 14,707 which is 10.2pc and Kisii 10,786 or 7.5pc.
The domination of the Kikuyu and Kalenjin tribes is in many quarters attributed to current and former presidents who openly favoured their people in state appointments.

kisii power

Kisii county ODM leadership reached a consensus on how top county party positions were to be shared between two warring camps. The two camps led by Kisii governor James Ongwae and those of Kisii senator Chris Obure and Deputy Governor Joash Maangi shared the party positions.
The accord was reached at after Maangi was pressed upon to upgrade his political status by bowing out from contesting the Bomachoge Chache branch chairmanship to area MP Simon Ogari. The contest between Ogari and Maangi was suspended after ODM headquarters and Kisii leaders pleaded with him to contest a county office and leave the branch seat to Ogari.
It was against this background that Obure was named the Kisii county ODM chairman with Kisii county speaker Kerosi Ondieki as his vice. Both are in the same political camp.
Ongwae took the secretary position with Maangi as the organising secretary. Kisii women representative Mary Otara who is allied to the Obure-Maangi axis was named deputy secretary with Nyatangi as the treasurer. MCA Risper Onguti was named the chairperson of the Women League with Changanya as the youth leader.

GITHU-MUIGAI

Attorney General Githu Muigai has been sucked into a land dispute revolving around two feuding factions in Kiambu county.
This is after a state counsel at the AG Chambers, Doris Githua, on Thursday last week presided over a controversial annual general meeting-cum-election of new directors of Githunguri Constituency Ranching Company in Ruiru, Kiambu county where the polls were swiftly dismissed by the rival group.
The group led by John Maina Mburu held the elections at Matopeni Primary School grounds in Ruiru where Mburu was re-elected chairman with Peter Mwangi, Grace Muthoni, Esther Waithera and George Waweru picked as directors. The election was supervised by Doris Githua from the Attorney General’s office.
But the AGM drew swift criticisms from the rival group led by Ahmed Gikera, who termed the new directors as imposters who they kicked out of office mid this year.
Gikera claimed that the former board of directors led by Mburu was on May 23 2015 voted out of office by the members during a special general meeting. He said other directors voted out together with Mburu are John Mwangi, Esther Kinyanjui, Henry Kihoro, Peter Muturi, Grace Muchai and John Wanjohi.
Gikera added that during their AGM, they elected Stanley Njoroge, Joseph Muthoni, Teresiah Mathai, Monica Chege, John Waweru and Henry Wainaina as directors with him as the chairman.
He faulted the faction for holding the election yet there was a pending suit at a Thika court whose judgment will be delivered on January 22 2016.
Gikera said the wrangles at the land buying company saw the court on November 10 2014 order the directors to hold an election within 90 days but this never materialised due to lack of a register and other vital documents.
He adds that on February 14 2014, the members held an extraordinary meeting where they formed a caretaker committee to fill the void in public members’ office and hold elections.
But later, one of the members Joseph Kinuthia, took the caretaker committee to court for failure to call elections. The court ordered the caretaker committee to call elections within 30 days.
Gikera opined that his team was elected on March 23 2015 as per the court ruling delivered on November 6 2014 by Justice JM Mutungi.
But their rivals, he added, moved to a Thika court and got enjoined in the case filed by Kamunya where they were issued with two orders that they did not serve the rivals.
It is after this that Gikera filed for a judicial review application at the High Court to quash the proceedings at Thika court issued on July 28 2015. The judgment will be delivered on January 10 2016.
Gikera team had also applied for a Certified Public Secretary for CR12 but a state counsel at the office of the Attorney General, Coretta Maweu, while acknowledging receipt of their returns declined to issue CR12 pegging her argument on the two orders emanating from the Thika court.
But the Gikera team wrote to the AG stating that the company’s offices were on September 14 2009 broken into and vital documents disappeared and none had been reconstructed. This was during the tenure of their rivals.
But at the height of the dispute at Githunguri Constituency Ranching Company Limited is the putting up of a Sh4.5 billion sewerage project for Ruiru town in the disputed land.
Early this year, the Gikera faction moved to court demanding compensation for the plot measuring 82 acres which had been identified to host the sewerage treatment plant.
Through their lawyer, they sought orders to stop the World Bank-funded sewerage project until they were compensated. The petition was signed by Peter Njoroge and Teresiah Mathai on behalf of the shareholders. The Athi Water Services Board and Sino Hydro Corporation – the contractor – were listed as defendants.
The applicants argued that the World Bank has set aside Sh2.5 billion for their compensation and Sh2 billion for putting up the plant. They demanded that they be given the money before the project kicked off.
The project is meant to benefit the sprawling Ruiru and Juja townships once completed.
Others who signed the petition were John Waweru, Joseph Kamau, Joseph Muthoni, Ahmed Chege, Family Shade Limited and Land Luck Investments.
They claimed they are genuine members of the land buying company and are therefore entitled to consultation and proper compensation before the project is launched.
The applicants further in the application wanted the World Bank, Githunguri Constituency Ranching Company Ltd, Athi Water Services Board, Kiambu county government and Ruiru Sewerage Works declared guilty of trespass and illegal acquisition of their land.

I have been urging patriotic Kenyans to demand for the arrest and prosecution of Nahashon Nyagah but many people have been castigating and ridiculing me for saying  the truth . Nahashon Nyagah tried to Con Stephen Jennings- Major shareholder Tatu City and  when his evil plan backfired, Nyagah rushed to court and managed to stop his arrest and prosecution .

My efforts have been palpable, I tried to campaign for his arrest using the hashtag Dubbed #ArrestNyagahForTatuFraud but it seems our cells  belong to those below the poverty line . Nyagah has been in the headlines for the better part of 2015 for the wrong reasons . Here is something I have seen in the daily nation . This brief analysis will give you a brief overview on who this man Nyagah is

The talk of town – especially in the past few months – has been the Eurobond. But in case anyone has forgotten, there was once a Euro Bank which left a trail of disaster in Kenya’s history of banking. It, too, caused a political storm which only claimed a single soul – Mr Nahashon Nyagah.

As we unravel the mystery of the Eurobond, the Euro Bank saga was as vicious as it was scandalous.

It was the first to ever claim “the scalp” — as BBC put it — of Kenya’s shortest serving Central Bank governor.

Nyagah has of late been in the news for all the wrong reasons: The tussle over the multi-million-shilling Tatu City. But looks like controversy stalks the son of the late Jeremiah Nyagah, Kenya’s mercurial minister for Agriculture during the Jomo Kenyatta presidency.

While Tatu is a story for another day, Nyagah remains the least known of Kenya’s former Central Bank chiefs.

His fall with the collapse of Nairobi-based Euro Bank — and with it, pension savings for thousands of workers — was a big splotch to a man who was destined to rise. Or so, we thought. And that is for a reason. Central Bank had been the citadel that shaped the careers of various technocrats, an institution that brought forth the skill and capability of different individuals. At times, as history has showed, some have walked away with heads high while others have had a tail-between-legs departure.

In a few months, Central Bank will be 50, celebrating its monetary policy achievements and learning from the failures of some of the governors who reigned within its corridors.

While others have faded into oblivion, Nyagah is still a man in the news — at least for 2015.

WHERE IT ALL STARTS

The story starts in May 1966 when the bank was established under a Polish economist Dr Leon Baranski — who became the first governor. Baranski was not a governor per se, rather he was seconded from World Bank to oversee the establishment and takeover by Duncan Ndegwa — the suave bureaucrat who ran the institution for 15 years.

In terms of management, Ndegwa was in a class of his own since he was ranked as an outsider from the powerful Kiambu mafia, which controlled the political and economic game. At times, he was frustrated and thought of throwing in the towel. He says as much in his book. But he had one man who believed in him: Jomo Kenyatta — and so he survived until 1982 when he handed over to the flamboyant economist, Philip Ndegwa.

An alumnus of Makerere, Philip entered CBK as a rank outsider having come from Kenya Commercial Bank. A man who had trained in Harvard before returning to take over a senior position as adviser on economics and planning, Philip was in a class of his own in investing. He understood the money markets more than many others of his ilk and, by the end of his tour of duty, he had amassed loads of wealth. Today, his family commands a place in real estate, banking and insurance industry.

Also, he is credited for the role he played in the privatisation of Kenya Airways, and his management style when he was chair of Kenya Commercial Bank.

Compared to Philip, who stayed as governor for six years, Nyagah’s tenure fades into oblivion, although it can never match the reign of Eric Kotut — the man whose name was tarnished by the Goldenberg scandal — a multi-billion-shilling export compensation scheme that involved cheque kiting and forex theft. Cheque kiting involved taking advantage of the float to make use of non-existent funds and that is what Kamlesh Pattni’s Exchange Bank was known for.

Kotut chaperoned Goldenberg to an extent that his deputies thought he had lost touch with reality. “He was a fence-sitter,” said CBK official Jacinta Mwatela. His deputy, the late Eliphas Riungu, appeared to be the man in charge and would bang tables — according to Mwatela — if anyone resisted payment of Pattni’s fraudulent millions.

While lots of cleansing was done by Kotut’s successor, Micah Cheserem, the bank was like a lame duck. But to his credit, the straight-shooting governor managed to pump energy back into the institution and survived for six years. Today, he is one of the former governors holding a government position in the Commission of Revenue Allocation.

Cheserem is also a big horticulture farmer having invested some Sh164 million in the floriculture business. “The money was a loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB) on condition we invest it in export agribusiness. EIB credit is no longer available, though, because local banks are now offering loans,” Cheserem told the Nation early in the year.

It was after Cheserem’s departure in 2001 that Nyagah entered the fray — the first person to have risen through the CBK ranks to become a governor.

Nyagah entered at a time when President Moi was ending his final term and was under pressure from within and without Kanu on his successor. It is not yet clear why he settled on Nyagah – although he was known to have been a friend of his father during the Kenyatta years. Whether that informed the choice is neither here, nor there.

But a few deals signed before Moi left were to form a narrative that would finally see the fall of Kenya’s shortest serving CBK governor.

The first was a decision to award an exclusive currency-printing contract for a British firm De la Rue, which would later contribute to the acrimony between the British High Commissioner and the Kibaki administration.

The agreement signed by Central Bank during Nyagah’s reign had given – through single-sourcing – a 10 year multi-billion-shilling contract to the currency printer. Actually, this was the first contract that was cancelled by Kibaki after he came to power and after he appointed Dr Andrew Mullei as Nyagah’s successor.

In his letter Dr Mullei, who was hardly 10 days in office, wrote to the Finance Minister David Mwiraria to confirm the State House agreement: “[That] De La Rue be informed that a decision has been made to go for open tender for the supply of our notes for the period after December 2004, it being understood that De La Rue will be free to participate in bidding.”

But it is not the De La Rue deal that saw Nyagah’s fall. It was the Euro Bank scandal – which has today been forgotten.

Nyagah actually became the first governor of the Central Bank of Kenya to step down after being criticised for failing to prevent the loss of Sh1.4bn, which state organisations had deposited in Euro Bank.

The lost cash included Sh958m in pension funds deposited by state-owned health institutions, including Kenyatta Hospital and the then Health minister Charity Ngilu demanded that the governor take personal responsibility for the loss.

Although CBK had put Euro Bank into liquidation on February 21, the scandal seemed deeper than was being discussed in public.

The first to go was Kenya Revenue Authority Commissioner General John Munge who was a director of Euro Bank and had previously worked at the bank. Nyagah’s sin of omission was that he could have done better to regulate this bank and seen the weaknesses within.

BANKING CIRCLES

In banking circles, Euro Bank is still seen as one of the worst banking disasters — where embezzling and fraudulent deals reigned supreme.

While it had high-level personalities listed as co-shareholders and directors, the reality was that these were put there to dupe CBK. Why it never investigated the bank is never known but it used political connections to build a huge clientele in the parastatals.

Actually, the parastatal deposits accounted for 67 per cent of the deposits, which led critics to say “the ill-fated bank was in the business of milking state money not trading.” Again, its dud assets piled at 260 per cent of their equity fund size and 92 per cent of the debts taken by state firms’ heads and politicians were non-performing. That is what brought down Nahashon Nyagah.

His successor, Mullei, did not survive for long too and was embarrassed out of the CBK with a court case over abuse of office. He was later acquitted but by then he had been replaced by Prof Njuguna Ndung’u, the academic who survived through a myriad of challenges to pave way for Dr Patrick Njoroge.

Apart from Cheserem and Nyagah, the other governors are today out of the limelight.

While focus has been on the Eurobond, we can now recall how Nyagah went through the scam that was the Euro Bank.

Apparently, and like all political cases, the Euro Bank scandal has seen the cases dropped after the deaths of some of the key suspects. Some of these include: Dr Augustine Muita, former director of Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH), Paul Songok, former financial director at Post Bank Limited and Zachary Kamondo, one of Euro Bank’s owners.

Others acquitted by the courts include: Mr Munge — former Kenya Revenue Authority boss and Euro Bank director, Prof Julius Meme, a former director of Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) and one-time Health permanent secretary, Isaiah Kiplagat, former managing director Post Bank Limited, Mr Solomon Muthamia, a former director and Mr Jamal Firdosh, also a director.

EVANS-KIDERO-ASKARI

When the Hashtag #KideroFailedNairobi started Trending, Many people joined the conversation and started giving their Views . This is after pictures of uncollected heaps of garbage started doing the rounds online .
This was a small matter if you ask any social media Guru but Kidero’s communication team messed up when they joined the bandwagon and started started denying everything then shifted the blame to political rivals and incompetent garbage collection companies that are sabotaging Kidero’s Good Job

That Kidero has done something in Nairobi is palpable but you know we live in a society where people will never appreciate . I have tried to understand why County Director of Public Communications, Nairobi City County Beryl Okundi shared Pictures we saw two months ago claiming that a cleaning exercise had commenced .

The Clueless Communication team then went ahead  attacking those demanding for better services….

Photos circulating on Social media is propaganda and malice. Why are people sharing old photos to make @county_nairobi @KideroEvans Lk bad?

Is demanding for better services meant to make Kidero Look Bad  ? Well, those are views from a County communication director .

Twelve hours later, Evans Kidero Retweeted a Tweet with the same images that had been dismissed as fake …The Tweet said

Clean up exercise currently on going in Different parts of the city Kudos to the .@county_nairobi environment team

So what should have been done ? By the way Nairobians must know that cleanliness begins with me and you  . Yes,  the county is supposed to ensure that out town is clean but that responsibility begins with you lest we are bloody hypocrites .

Kidero’s Communication team should have used the images to launch a campaign like #NairobiansFailedNairobi . Use the images to discourage littering and promise to deal harshly with those found littering aimlessly . But blaming Rivals and the garbage collection companies was centuries behind times

Mutahi Nyunyi threatens to sue Communication Consultant Paul Achar for defamation

Mutahi Nyunyi has been making the headlines for  the wrong reasons . A few months ago, Mutahi Nyunyi threatened to sue the Star Newspaper for unde-representing his worth . This is after the star newspaper reported that the controversial political scientist was paid Shs.38.9 M for consultancy.

This website later exposed something and the Chief editor of this site received threats after doing a story exposing how Mutahi Nyunyi won the NYS tender .

Details later emerged on how political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi and comedian-turned-politician John Kiarie were paid millions of shillings in National Youth Service scam. Ngunyi’s consultancy firm, Consulting House, was one of the firms that offered consultancy to NYS. No advertisements were made for consultancy work and thus the manner in which he landed the lucrative tender was questioned by myriad Kenyans .

This website then went ahead and expose what now happens to be common knowledge

Ngunyi who is the owner of Consulting House was paid Sh38.9 million for consultancy services on the implementation of the NYS 5-Point Vision Strategy.
Ngunyi has allegedly been blacklisted by international firms due to his operations style more so, when it comes to invoicing and payments. A shrewd operative who smells money even when in the toilet, Ngunyi, although himself portraying to be living a splash life, is said to be mean to his immediate family.

Well, Why is Ngunyi threatening to sue Paul Achar . I will Quote what Paul Achar wrote in his Blog – An edited version appeared on the daily nation

True intellectuals are like a mirror. They not only keep it real by reflecting society; but when they see something wrong in the image reflecting back, they strive to correct the aspects which are out of place. They do this through communicating tested peer reviewed theories/opinions or proffering solutions that fall within the ethical standards of scholarship.

Mutahi Ngunyi took to social media to present assertions and opinions into the theatre of public debate without including peer reviewed evidence to support the same and eventually some of his Ad Hominem attacks on certain Political personalities and constituencies were called out as dishonest scholarship and ethnically motivated.

This eventually lead to accusations of hate speech and an appearance before the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) followed by an attempt at apologizing which was written out on his Twitter Handle. (A remorseful apology is normally communicated from the heart and in order to gain trust, it is delivered extemporaneously). Recent Classic Communication fails at attempted apologies include Tiger Woods and Marion Jones reading out written statements.

He dismissed various invitations to publicly debate his assertions, which wasn’t too much of a demand because the standards for judging the scope of his theories or opinions needed to be weighed by his peers. His responses to questions surrounding the National Youth Service consultancy offered by his firm were also not comprehensively addressed. Public intellectuals must always aspire to communicate sound peer reviewed and tested opinions and also be willing to publicly debate their ideas. This certainly enhances their Credibility.

Mutahi Ngunyi calls this defamation . This was Mutahi Ngunyi’s response

I will sue PAUL ACHAR and NATION MEDIA for calling me DISHONEST.Calling me Intellectually ARROGANT is Ok. Calling me DISHONEST is DEFAMATION

We are waiting for him to make his threats real . Meanwhile Mutahi Ngunyi has lost credibility among Kenyans . When he Tweets something, the comments that follow show how Kenyans no longer trust him . Many know him as a Jubilee Sympathizer. Others have claimed he is paid to defend government and attack the CORD leaders . Just go to his Twitter Account and confirm  this .

In our earlier post , We referred  to Paul Achar as a Journalist but Later learnt Paul Achar is  an Executive Communication Consultant and Speech Coach who does  an annual Best and Worst Communicators list starting in 2014. Sorry for the minor error

DP Ruto sets aside Millions to buy the following Mps ahead of 2017

Deputy President William Ruto’s United Republican Party is on a buying spree of leaders in Western region to bolster its negotiating value with Uhuru Kenyatta’s TNA in the leadership of the yet-to-be unveiled Jubilee Party.
According to sources in URP, the declaration by Ruto when he met Kalenjin leaders at his Sugoi home before Christmas that JP was “about me” is part of a wider scheme to take control of JP using proxies from other regions in preparation for a stab at the presidency in 2022 or even earlier.
Targeted for buying are MPs from coast, Luhya and Kisii. At the Coast region, a number of Cord allied MPs are said to be warming up to JP and have been telling their supporters that they will defect if assured of development in their respective regions.
The Cord allied MPs said to be on their way out are Kilifi women representative Aisha Khamis, Kilifi South MP Mustafa Idd, Mvita MP Abdulswamad Nassir, Mwatate MP Andrew Mwadime, Kwale women representative Zainab Chidzuga and her Taita Taveta counterpart Joyce Lay, Kilifi North MP Gideon Mung’aro, Ganze MP Peter Shehe, Lunga Lunga MP Khatib Mwashetani and Jomvu MP Badi Twaliba of Wiper.
In North Eastern, Wajir North MP Ibrahim Saney has publicly declared that he will defend his seat on JP ticket. He was elected on ODM ticket during 2013 elections.
In Kisii, Kitutu Chache MP Richard Onyonka is said to be on his way to JP while Borabu MP Ben Momanyi and Governor John Nyagarama of Nyamira county are also said to be under pressure to desert Cord. Momanyi who was elected on a Wiper ticket is a close associate of Kalonzo Musyoka, the
Marked in Western is the Navakholo MP Emmanuel Wangwe, Benjamin Washiali, Mumias East, Ben Shinali, Ikolomani and Justus Kizito, the former Shinyalu who crossed the floor to JP recently.
“The DP wants to win concessions from his boss before 2017 as the undisputed leader of JP and ensure that if JP wins in 2017, the government is tilted heavily in his favour. He must pack the government with his operatives to force the Kikuyu promise to back him in 2022. The first step is to control JP by arguing he has more widespread support. He will pack JP with proxies to make it look national, at the expense of the Kikuyu. This is his insurance. Control will ensure the Kikuyu do not have a fallback party should they attempt to jilt him,” said an MP who attended the Sugoi meeting.
“That is the innocent scenario. The more sinister one is for Ruto to take on Uhuru for the JP ticket in 2017. With a “national” JP, Ruto hopes to isolate Mt Kenya delegates and bag the ticket. “We want to test the Kikuyu promise in 2017. Will they come along with us if we’ve more delegates? We want to play the Putin Roulette,” a close confidante of Ruto says

Luhya Mps given Sh100,000 while Kalenjin Mps were given Sh1,000,000 as fare by Ruto

It is being alleged that Ruto is enticing Western Kenya Mps to be on his side ahead of 2017 by promising to fund their 2017 elections . In Kenya, the habit of various politicians supporting a certain fella to get funding has become the order of the day . The notorious and cheap politicians come from the Western Kenya voting Block .

As 2017 nears, Power brokers are seriously hawking the Western Kenya region because the Western Kenya voters are always cheap . A few days ago, It is alleged , Ruto went for the carrot with sweeteners to entice the gullible  Western Kenya MPs. . Ruto is said to have promised to fund their campaigns and gave each Sh100,000 as claimed by Lugari MP Ayub Savula.
According to Savula, the Luhya MPs were bought on the cheap considering that their Kalenjin counterparts on an earlier visit to Sugoi pocketed Sh1 million each as fare. It is following this alleged payout that Washiali and Navakholo MP Wangwe hastily convened a press conference in Kakamega to state the obvious that they had joined JP.

Drama at NSSF as 3 suspended officials attempt to get back to offices claiming Ruto had cleared them

Drama unfolded at NSSF headquarters when three suspended officials attempted to get back to their offices claiming that they had been cleared by the Director of Public Prosecution Keriako Tobiko.
Managing trustee Richard Lang’at, finance and investment general manager Gideon Kyengo and property development manager Mutemi Nzatu attempted to return to NSSF but were turned away. It has emerged that the trio have allegedly been conning contractors and suppliers pretending they are back in office and would facilitate payments of pending bills.
NSSF board is said not to be comfortable with the group more so, after they invaded the offices and a disciplinary action is to be taken. They claimed William Ruto had ordered them to report at work. Cotu boss Francis Atwoli threatened to institute private prosecutions against them if it is true they had been cleared. The Tassia II project involving suspicious award in the tender that led to loss of millions will form the base of private prosecution. Already, lawyers have been instructed to start filing the private prosecutions.
Lang’at was also accused of flouting procurement rules in the award of a tender for design, supply and installation of a security surveillance system. He is said to have influenced award of the tender.
Kyengo and Nzatu were suspended over alleged fraud in the Sh5 billion Tassia II scheme. They are accused of irregularly approving the budget and awarding the tender to China Jiangxi International Kenya Ltd.
Sources say whereas Lang’at and his co-accused claim that they had been cleared by the DPP, it is now being said that the EACC has recommended administrative action against them over the Sh5 billion Tassia II tender awarded to the Chinese company for infrastructure development.
Langat’s crime, the EACC found, was exposing the fund to contractual obligations when all the money to finance the project had not been collected from the tenants and that the administrative management of the tender process was fraught with irregularities and impropriety. It is said the opening of the tender, the evaluation committee’s recommendations and the tender committee meeting to award the tender apparently all took place on the same day, December 17 2013.
Lang’at has also been accused of lying that the Nairobi county government had received Sh11, 244,000 as payment for submission and inspection of the project plan. However, it has been confirmed that the county government of Nairobi did not receive the payment.
Sources say even if Tobiko clears them, their survival will be a tall order. With the constitution allowing private prosecution, then it is a ghost to haunt them forever.
After the three were turned away, talk within the NSSF staff is that the three suspended bosses were vindictive, arrogant and isolated. It is said immediately Lang’at landed the plum slot, he transferred senior managers at the fund to outside stations for reasons best known to him. However, others say he was on a revenge mission. If he finds his way back, the staff is likely to revolt.
Sources now say Lang’at could face private persecution after it also emerged that he was allegedly involved in the bribery deals by Chinese contractors. Further, his construction of a residential house in Langata area without a bank loan has surfaced and raised eyebrows.
Lang’at and his team at one-time travelled to Dubai for a holiday where money is said to have exchanged hands with a Chinese firm representatives who had manipulated happenings and awarded a tender.
The current acting NSSF managing Trustee is Antony Omerikwa from Teso. The region voted for Ruto URP and if Langat has his way back with the DP blessings, poilticians from the region will feel betrayed. To have him removed, Langat and his allies have a dossier implicating Omerikwa in dirty deals at the Fund.

Inside Luhya politics ahead of 2017

Independent Elections and Boundaries Commission has set August 8 2017 as the date when Kenyans will go back to the polls to elect their new leaders or re-elect the current ones for another five-year mandate in line with the provisions of the constitution.
As the countdown to the polls begins in earnest the Luhya Nation remains fractiously divided. This community has a perennial history of approaching every election in different and small political pieces. This has undermined its chances of producing and rallying behind a single presidential candidate to win or directly influence the election outcome in the country.
The community has only 12 months to put its house in order and key players in region politics are already scheming on how to control the vote bloc.
Cotu secretary general Francis Atwoli recently according to sources hosted over 20 Luhya MPs at his new magnificent Kajiado home which has a five-star hotel where they discussed community issues for hours. According to a source, the chairman of Luhya parliamentary group John Bunyasi, the Nambale legislator was present. An MP who attended the talks told us that many were of the opinion that Atwoli be given the mandate to unite the community. This will not be the first time Atwoli will be engaged. Prior to the 2013 general election, Atwoli sponsored unity talks between Musalia Mudavadi, Moses Wetangula, Cyrus Jirongo and Eugene Wamalwa in Maasai Mara to agree on one candidate.
Stakeholders want Atwoli to be supported as the umpire to bring together all the Luhya leaders and help chart a unifying course that will rally the people of Mulembe behind a single candidate with a national appeal in one of the coalitions.
Atwoli is seen as both capable and neutral. He is a respected elder in the community and he is not seeking any elective or political seat at the moment. He is also a fundraiser who can marshal resources to fund a well structured unity dialogue starting from the top downwards.
Currently, there are a number of Luhya leaders angling to contest the presidency. Among them are Ford-K party leader and Bungoma senator Wetangula, ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi and his UDP counterpart Jirongo. Analysts say a formula need to be quickly worked out to pick one torch-bearer from the above leaders.
Atwoli at the function is said to have opined that only a single presidential candidate from the Luhya Nation can create an impact on the national political scene. Anything short of that is betrayal of our people. Immediately Atwoli hosted the MPs deputy president William Ruto had a delegation of a section of the community at his Sugoi home in Uasin Gishu. Many of them were of New Ford Kenya. Ruto took issue of Luhyas being beggars and need to join Jubilee. Chaos erupted when the DP gave a donation of Sh1.5 million to be shared among the visitors. URP secretary general Fred Muteti had his trousers torn as those invited fought over the money.
When Ruto visited the region for Butsotso cultural fete, he came face to face with Senator Bonnie Khalwale. Khalwale told Ruto not to depend on political brokers in the region since the community has its own leaders. It has emerged that the DP has been paying sitting MPs allied to him Sh20,000 per week for operations and Jubilee invades the area on a buying spree of its leaders to weaken and divide the region. Navakholo MP Emmanuel Wangwe and Ben Shinali of Ikolomani top the list. Former Shinyalu MP Justus Kizito currently experiencing financial troubles has also joined Jubilee. ANC leader Mudavadi has abandoned him after discovering he Kizito is a liability than an asset.
It is also surfacing that Jubilee is targeting the populous Bukusu vote bloc to tilt the political equation come 2017.All its appointment are aimed at the community sidelining other regions. Wetangula has roots in the region and with his fate still within IEBC, it will be interesting to see unfolding scenario.
January 20 2016 will of no doubt capture the attention of all Kenyans and political observers across the globe as IEBC commissioners deliver a ruling on the Wetangula’s political fate of the famous “Mundu Khu Mundu” catchphrase which for years has been a common recital amongst keen political observers.
This will be a day to capture the important dramatic moment of Wetangula’s political career on whether his name will remain on the ballot or struck off, depending on his defence team that is expected to put forth a gallant effort of proving his innocence hence determine the political re- alignments ahead of 2017 elections which Wetangula has declared to run for presidency. Mudavadi, Jirongo, Khalwale and Atwoli are said to be in talks with Wetangula in case of any eventuality. For now, Ruto is the political enemy of top Luhya politicians and thus has decided to use first time MPs in his bid to infiltrate the region which has failed. The bringing on board of Wamalwa to accompany him in regionao functions despite being a cabinet secretary shows how desperate Jubilee is out to make inroads in the region with less success. The political statements made by Wamalwa contravene the law that as a cabinet secretary, he should not engage in politics. The ailing Mumias Sugar saga, the death of Panpaper, the stalled Kakamega-Webuye road construction works and the construction of Kakamega, Navakholo, Bungoma road which was promised by Ruto are ghosts haunting Jubilee a head of 2017.
Wetangula is being accused of voter bribery, a fact that he has vehemently denied.
Wetangula’s Western rallies have thrown the region into campaign mood.
Foreign visitors will be forgiven for imagining the country is barely months away from the polls when in reality is far from it. Amid this, aspirant governors, senators, MPs and MCAs have thrown spanners in the works emasculated by Wetangula and holding in contempt politicians from the region sympathetic to Jubilee government led by Bungoma governor Kenneth Lusaka. Lusaka promotes Jubilee interests in the region that enjoys the dominance of Cord and has managed to have the government control majority in the assembly.
During the rallies that pulled a host of MPs and MCAs from western in tow, Ford Kenya’s 2017 Bungoma county gubernatorial aspirant Wycliffe Wangamati upped the ante on corruption and bad governance from Lusaka’s region faulting Lusaka on Wetangula woes, as it has been alleged by Cord politicians that Lusaka, cabinet secretary Eugene Wamalwa, Noah Wekesa and Musikari Kombo have been making frequent forays to State House to have the state push IEBC to remove Senator Wetangula’s name from the voter register, a move that may see him being barred from contesting any elective post.

Shame on Nation Media Group for suspending Denis Galava for criticizing Government

Denis-galava

Nation Media Group, the biggest media outlet in the East African region was unprofessional in suspending its editor Denis Galava. He has been the Investigations and Special Projects editor from August last year, when he returned from the UK where he was undertaking his masters degree.

In suspending Mr. Galava, the media house has failed its own test, its own creed ‘integrity transparency and balance in journalism.’

Nation Media Group Editor in Chief Tom Mshindi said in a circular to editorial staff that Mr. Denis Galava has been asked to

“take some time off to allow us time to review the circumstances of the writing and filing of the editorial for Saturday Nation, January 2, 2016.”

It is unprofessional of them because he is not the editor for Saturday Nation. Tim Wanyonyi is the Managing Editor for the paper, hence the person who should take responsibility.

Ideally, before an article is seen by the public, it should have passed at least six hands; the journalist, sub-editor, chief sub-editor, revise editor, associate editor and Managing Editor. This is not always the case.

He let the truth out about failure, by the editors to comply with their procedures when he says

“The lack of consultation where one writer takes a strong position on such an important issue single-handedly without broad discussion and consultation is a significant departure from established procedure.”

Moreover, the editorial is most crucial, something the Associate and Managing Editor have a greater say and the determine the content in addition to the Editor in Chief.

In fact, Mshindi confirmed as he said in the circular

“The editorial of the Daily Nation is the most important content of the paper. It states the position not of the writer but of the paper, its editor and publisher.”

In suspending Denis Galava, Tom Mshindi is confirming that some stories get to be printed without going through the rigorous institutional gate keeping that they have in place. In fact, for such an outlet which also has an editorial board, separate from the managers at the institution, he is accepting incompetence on his part, the board and editors of NMG.

Mr. Mshindi goes on to read the riot act of the new editorial guidelines

“I require to see all our editorials and editorial cartoons. A full length editorial, a Page One commentary or an editorial expressing particularly strong views must first be discussed by senior editors in conference as well as with the Editor-in-Chief. The Editor-in-chief would then inform the GCEO (Group CEO) and the Editorial Board Committee.”

It is common sense to know that the heat comes from State House who have been against any form of criticism towards them. State House has welcomed the founder and majority shareholder of NMG His Highness the Aga Khan on several occasions. It must have reached out to the Nation Media Group Board of Directors, angered by an editorial that spoke the truth about the state of affairs in the country.

Mr President, get your act together this year

Editorial that ruined New Year for Nation top managers

Advertising determines content in media. Never has this been more profound than under the three years of jubilee government. They not only openly threaten journalists, pass laws that are contrary to constitutional freedoms and rights that protect media freedom but also go further to threaten editors and media managers not to publish, fire or pull out stories.

Denis Galava has done extremely well in recent months, guiding one of his writers under special projects John Kamau to write incisive analysis and features on various issues affecting the bread and butter of Kenyans. But these do not matter, in the advent of a do-nothing-say-everything government as well articulated by Galava in the editorial.

Whether he returns is neither here nor there, the die has been cast; NMG cannot and will never assert its independence, professional edicts and journalism excellence is thorax stumps.

On the eve of first anniversary of the massacre of journalists and cartoonists at the Charlie Hebdo offices in Paris, Nation Media Group massacred itself professionally.

MAANGI SEEMS TO HAVE POCKETED ALL THE MONEY RUTO GAVE OUT

A dejected delegation from Kisii and Nyamira counties that went to visit the Deputy President William Ruto in his Sugoi home is crying foul over the way they were handled by the organizers.

The more than 1, 500 delegates from the two counties claim they were misused by the organizers of the meeting who include Kisii County Deputy Governor Joash Maangi , law makers Richard Tongi (Nyaribari Chache), Jimmy Angwenyi (Kitutu Chache North), Stephen Manoti (Bobasi) and former Planning Minister Henry Obwocha.

The delegates allege that they were promised to be given allowance amounting to Sh 20,000 for the two days but they were shocked when they were handed Sh. 1, 000. It is said that Members of County Assembly (MCAs) received a Sh. 2,000 each.

“I was told that my name was among those visiting the Deputy Head of State in his Uasin Gishu County and that by the end of the trip I could take home that amount. I learnt with disbelief that the organizers had pocketed our money which translates to millions and chose to give us partly Sh 1, 000,” said a delegate from Nyaribari Chache.

The delegate who sought anonymity said he closed his business for two days with the hope of getting more than his daily returns only to return a frustrated man.

“A friend had warned me that the Maangi led team have selfish interests and were out to please the DP with numbers that do not conform to his ideologies an advice that I ignored only to fall victim of the schemes of brokers,” he said.

Another delegate from Bomachoge Chache constituency accused Maangi of dividing voters ahead of the forthcoming general elections. He wondered why Maangi who was recently elected the Organizing Secretary for Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) for betraying the party.

Dikembe Disembe : President Uhuru is economic sabotuer

$

waitiki

The Presidential Strategic Communications Unit has been calling Raila Odinga an ‘economic saboteur’, a term which is becoming common in their new fear mongering and hate mongering propaganda to paint the opposition leader as bad for the country’s economy (of course Uhuru’s disastrous management of the economy is ‘good for the country’).

Raila Odinga as Prime Minister arbitrated on many things, from blue chip companies facing unfavourable business practices from their competitors aide by corrupt regulators (BAT for example) to teachers fighting for fair wages to touts facing harassment from traffic police etc. The now known case of Keroche Breweries Vs EABL classically shows Mr. Odinga could not have been driven by ulterior motives to arbitrate these issues, or to sabotage the economic development of Kenya.

Recently while being interviewed, Odinga, to drive the point home, revealed even the Standard Group, which is known to be a Moi business, ran to him when their premises along Mombasa road was under threat from the PNU pettiness which followed a series of Standard Newspaper exposes of dubious characters in the country, including the Artur brothers.

These are not actions of an ‘economic saboteur’. [And] if indeed they were, why was it that Kenya’s economy grew in leaps and bounds under him? Put differently, why has over 100 blue chip companies issued profit warnings (making losses) under Uhuru?

PSCU is allowed to peddle their propaganda. This isn’t what I wanted to tell you though.

A lot has been about Joho’s tiff with Uhuru yesterday. However, one issue is being shrouded in the media jamboree that claims to ‘analyse’ the differences between Joho and Uhuru. It is the dues to Mombasa County that Waitiki Farm owes.

The farm owes Mombasa County close to half a billion shillings in unpaid land rates. Joho wants this money to be paid to his county. Mombasa deserves this money. It needs it.

Unknown to many people, Mombasa County is among the last counties, if not the very last, which often receive disbursements from the Treasury.

Uhuru regime continue to use late disbursements of funds to counties to frustrate devolution. A number of counties had to threaten that they’ll stop free maternity services for Treasury to release funds for the project which, surprisingly, the Jubilee touts as one of its main achievements.

No county has suffered the pettiness, the shenanigans and the selfish shamelessness of the National government than Mombasa County. No county has also been terrorised by the national government than Mombasa County.

It is important for those who’ve just started following Mombasa County politics after yesterday incident to understand why Governor Joho has no ‘time’ for President Uhuru.

President Uhuru, beyond by captive of the status quo forces which still imagine Kenya is still being controlled from Nairobi (and Nairobi controlled from Kiambu) is a politically petty man. He is surrounded by petty and bitter people. It is what Nobel Laureate Wole Soyinka terms ”the crisis of insecure incumbency”.

Insecure incumbents teeter towards dictatorships when their records are put to question. Insecure incumbents do the kind of things the ‘dynamic duo’ is doing. Buying off communities. Endless propaganda and scaremongering on their opponents. Desire to control mainstream media, thus shape mainstream narratives in their image and likeness. Violence. Consolidation of the nation’s already devolved power.

There was a time in 2014 they imagined county commissioners would water down powers of governors. There were governors who allowed themselves and their authorities to be subservient to county commissioners. Ali Hassan Joho was not one of them. A few months ago I shared with you my thoughts on Joho-Commission Marwa duel, which essentially was, and remain, a Joho-Uhuru duel.

Now, no one in the opposition wants to fight Uhuru. He is the President. And while some of us still maintain he was ‘elected by IEBC’ and ‘legitimized’ by the courts, we long accepted he is the President. However, this isn’t even the issue. The issue is; what kind of President is he?

Jubilee often makes a grievous assumption that no one should question the policies and politics of the President. To the extent that Uhuru gives nothing to Mombasa then signs a sh100 million ‘healthcare agreement’ with Lamu, people must question him. To the extent that he gives ‘Leases’ to Mombasa and ‘Title deeds’ to Lamu and Nakuru, people must question him.

As we head to 2017 and sharpen our questions; they [Jubilee] should wake up from this long slumber that they have monopoly over the future of this country.

CORD counties will continue to demand that President Uhuru and his regime stop economic sabotage. Disburse money to counties in good time. Pay Joho what belongs to Joho. It is biblical to do so.

Cyprian Nyakundi: At what point do Jubilee Sycophants begin asking ‘Why’ ?

My late 96-year-old grandfather, Wept when Uhuru was elected president.Little did he know that the same Jubilee Government would remand old people and even Jail 80sth years old granny over  a non-existent crime . That is a story for another day.

By the way, many young people were seduced, enthralled with Uhuru. But after 3 years, at what point do Uhuru’s Sycophants reinstate their brains ? When will Uhuru’s sycophants begin questioning his actions asking ‘ why ?’

According to statistics, 70 % of the young working class- Roughly 10 million people are unemployed in Kenya. The Jubilee government has done nothing to bridge the gap. Myriad Kenyans have lost ground in income, employment and education under Uhuru.

Even one Jubilee sycophant had to admit that ” When the Uhuru administration is over, thousands err Millions of Kenyans will have lost ground in every leading economic indicator category ” The decline in everything is the result of Uhuru’s bad policies and poor leadership .

Uhuru is the worst president Kenya has ever had. In short, Uhuru is the most economy killing president. A few days ago, CORD leader Raila Odinga accused Jubilee of over-stealing, over-spending and over-borrowing.

What is happening in Kenya is very sad and the trend is worrying. Jubilee has refused to admit that the economy has slipped their hands. What Kenyans are seeing is what used to happen in the 1990’s when the IMF imposed policies or SAPs leading to spiraling of interest rates .We are witnessing a situation where Kenyans are being left with staggering domestic and foreign debt . We are building a banana republic.

Uhuru Kenyatta’s children attend prestigious schools where achievement standards are very high. So why has Uhuru’s government been relentless in its attempts to kill education ? The poor cant afford basic textbooks and paying school fees . Uhuru has never cared and will never care about education .

Isnt it reasonable to question why Uhuru – The self proclaimed savior of the poor Kenyans would do such a thing ?

Here is what Alego Usonga Mp George Omondi said a few days ago, ” Kenyan voters are to blame for poor leadership ”

The Jubilee administration will go down as the worst regime in Kenya’s history .

Folks I could go on for days listing Uhuru’s failures and how he has undermined Kenya and Kenyans but still it wouldnt make a difference to Jubilee sycophants and many Uhuru’s walking dead Zombies. Nothing will make them question Uhuru’s actions .

Let me quote something from the bible

A man was suffering in hell. He asked to return to earth to warn his brothers not to follow his path. God said not even a visitor from beyond would change their minds.

Waiguru Reborn ?

waiguru

This article is not aimed at attacking Waiguru. Itis about Illustrating the Kenyan media ability to do PR for the corrupt, cleanse the corrupt and fool the populace. Case in point, Saying Waiguru is a victim of society that hates success and she did Kenyans a favor by stepping aside.

A few days ago, the Kenyan media launched their ” Waiguru Reborn ” Campaign . In fact this  happened  a day after DPP dismissed claims that Eurobond money was looted. A woman pretty, Intelligent and hardworking cannot be corrupt ”  That is what the media is depicting ”

According to the Kenyan media, Some people were out to destroy Waiguru.  The same media refuses to tell you that it was almost impossible to force out such a powerful CS with propaganda – They refuse to tell you that .

When Waiguru appeared on Citizen TV Live Interview , I watched with a bunch of  my patriotic friends . My friends laughed and made comments such as ” This is PR , Why is Hussein conducting this Live interview as if Waiguru has been Cleared and found to be clean ? ” It seems Hussein was coached in advance and given questions to ask Waiguru in Advance ” This is not the Hussein I know – Retorted one of my patriotic friends” I am going to sleep, This PR is too much- A friend added.

I dissected every word out of Waiguru’s mouth and placed it under a microscope . Then viewed it through a lens tainted with doubt ” Waiguru is a Bloody Liar ”

By the way, Kenyans were tough on Waiguru because their monies could not be accounted for. We expected Hussein Mohammed to ask meaningful questions . But Hussein asked her if she was now feeling better after being  unfairly asked to account for monies , About her house , About her lessons …In fact the questions were meant to display Waiguru as a Victim of a smear campaign by some imaginary forces . Imagine she hasnt been cleared by anybody . These are questions that should be asked when somebody has been vindicated .

The habit of Kenyan media doing PR for the corrupt has become too much . Efforts to cleanse Waiguru are palpable.

Kenyans on Twitter have made tremendous inroads in countering the Jubilee Propaganda and getting out the truth. I hope all of you  have seen their efforts- Jubilee,  to control the internet .

They have no problem with the media because kenyan media is  already in their pockets

In Western countries, People like Waiguru would be in jail because money was lost under her watch. Waiguru has no business hopping all over the Kenyan media telling us she can take credit for her ministry’s success but not be held into account for its failures .

Remember when South Korea’s prime minister announced his resignation and took  responsibility for the slow initial reaction to a ferry’s sinking that left nearly 200 dead ? That should be the way.

We are now going to see concerted efforts by the adolescent journalists and Kenyan media poseurs to present Waiguru as a Victim of hate and smear campaign . Remember the lost NYS millions are yet to be recovered- Not even a single individual may be jailed.

Sadly, the Kenyan media ability to shape public opinion is in severe decline. It is strange that  the media still believe they set the rules of engagement and define who is corrupt and clean. They even think Kenyans are stupid to accept everything . The corrupt should clear their names in courts of law not on TV – Assuming there is justice in Kenyan courts .

Hussein Mohammed interview was cheap PR. Money was lost and that is the Big issue. We expected Hussein to ask serious questions but that never happened . By the way, this is not the first time Hussein is being accused of doing cheap PR see here . Soon, he’ll loose credibility . Jeff Koinange tried to cleanse Ben Gethi but the attacks from the  keen online community  shocked him . People like Julie Gichuru have already lost credibility. Other Journalists must know that their days are numbered.

The Kenyan media must know that their glory days of distorting the truth, monopolizing coverage and totally controlling public opinion are over . We the people truly are taking back Kenya

REVEALED : Who stole 130 Million from Key NYS suspects homes ?

hhhhhhh

This is a sad case of mis-information from the Kenyan media. Today, 50 years after independence, the corrupt corporate still run the Kenyan media. Such a monopoly has guaranteed massive corruption, constant and consistent media lies, uniform indoctrination and very toxic policies.

A few days ago, we woke up to news that a whopping Sh130 million confiscated from two NYS  suspects by investigating officers was  missing. By the way this was Standard Newspaper headline . I asked myself a basic question ” I this possible ?”

The standard newspaper never stopped there. The standard newspaper on Tuesday, January 5th demanded that investigations be carried out to confirm whether their headline was factual .

The standard Newspaper alleged that Jane Wangeci Gichuki, a supply chain management assistant told them that 130 million was taken from their homes by investigators who raided their home . So was this true

The editor of this site Cyprian Nyakundi went on a fact finding mission and can confirm that these women were lying . My sources have confirmed that no money was stolen by the investigators . This is what happened.

You see when the NYS scandal was hot, Some people decided to use bribery to save themselves . So this Wangeci Gichuki lady paid millions to some officers to protect her but the guys failed to do that.

In a nutshell, Wangeci Gichuki  is demanding for her bribe because the officers failed to do what they promised her . My question is” Can you demand for a bribe ? ”

The fact that officers were bribed Millions to protect some NYS scandal propagators shows that this scandal was bigger that imagined.

What can be done ? This Gichuki lady should be arrested and forced to explain why she bribed officers – She must name the officers she bribed. These officers must face the law for promoting impunity .

Next time I urge the media to research and get facts before misleading Kenyans .

I still ask, Can you demand for your bribe when what you wanted done is not done ?

WHY Isaac Hassan and IEBC commissioners MUST RESIGN over London Chicken gate SCANDAL

By Ndung’u Wainaina

Whenever Kenyans demand accountability over the ‘Chicken Eating’ corruption scandal Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) quickly jumps into defence arguing innonce until proven guilty. It has further gone to claim, “we are neither the Courts nor the gods. let’s wait. We cannot have cut and paste justice. Cut London, paste Nairobi. Let’s be fair”.

That argument is sheer hollow, feeble and nonsense. In fact explains why IEBC cannot enforce integrity and ethics of the election candidates despite having constitutional powers to do so. It gives excuses and explains way the issue.

The highly politicized arguments on ‘until proven guilty’ do not hold water since the Constitution shifts from the traditional mere presumption of innocent until proven guilty in criminal liability to the threshold of suspicion and belief of having violated any section of it.

The ruling by the Judicial Tribunal that investigated the conduct of dismissed Deputy Chief Justice Nancy Baraza raised the integrity bar required of State and public officers

Contrary to IEBC shameless arguments on innocent until proven guilty, the issues of criminal records are only a part of a core set of integrity parameters, which were well developed by the tribunal. The tribunal was categorical that it was not investigating criminal conduct but rather her conduct in the fiasco. For this reason, the tribunal said, “we have spread our net wide and made reference to Chapter 4 on the Bills of Rights, Article 10, Article 28 and Article 73” to ensure no infringe of rights of the person while protecting integrity of institution of the judiciary.

The tribunal made a distinction between presumption of innocence as articulated in the administration of criminal justice and integrity standards expected of public/state officers. The tribunal asserted that standard of proof touching on the conduct and integrity of public officers is “neither that of criminal law, that is beyond reasonable doubt nor that in civil cases, which is on a balance of probability”.

The tribunal stated that unethical conduct or lack of integrity by state officers only required accurate proof and material facts. The innocence of a suspect until proven guilty is within the purview of administration of criminal justice system but cannot withstand or hinder the well-defined and enshrined national principles and values of ethics and integrity. In any case, when your conduct leads you to reasonable suspicion from a law enforcement agency to prefer a charge to be drawn against you, your integrity is called to question.

Consequently, the bar set by the Judicial tribunal on Nancy Baraza on question of integrity demand that any person adversely mentioned and or linked to ‘Chicken Eating’ corruption scandal must resign or be forced to leave public/state office. After all Uhuru Kenyatta suspended senior government officials from public/stare office mere allegations of corruption. In case of ‘Chicken Eating’ corruption scandal courts have already convicted individuals and proceeded to recover proceeds of corruption.

Mohammed Ali’s Anticipated Entrance Into Politics Gives Jubilee Sleepless Nights

moha

If you want to kill a dog, accuse him of having rabies, goes a French saying. For a good period of time, the senseless, fearless investigative journalist Mohammed Ali, better known in the circles as Moha Jicho Pevu drawn from his facts hitting and explosive expose piece, Jicho Pevu a programme that has since revolutionized the Investigative journalism in Kenya. Moha has become punching bag especially for the reigning regime’s leaders and their followers.

The indomitable journalist, in numerous occasions have been labeled a terrorist sympathizer from what the system’s cohorts want him to be seen as given his exposes that have criticized the government and poked loopholes in the fight against terrorism. This ranges from unwarranted arrests of Muslims to extrajudicial killings moves that he has vehemently opposed.

Death threats have become order of the day for the young defiant journalist who proves to be a thorn in the flesh for the government. He’s been perceived as a state’s enemy exposing him to attacks from jubilee’s chauvinist. The Latest attack came from Interior Security PS Nkaiserry during recent discovery of a mass grave in Mandera, the CS accused Moha of liaising with the Alshabaab and propagating their agenda, he went further demanding the journalist to ask for forgiveness of which he courageously dismissed standing his ground on living the truth. All these attacks yearn for the biggest question. What is it with Mohammed Ali that is making the jubilee government overwhelmingly disturbed. According to close sources to the highest office in the land, several schemes have been dispatched in a bid to discredit one of the most trusted journalist in Kenya owing to his undisputed investigative pieces.

Why would they break arms to discredit him? Inside sources confirms months of speculations that Mohammed Ali is arming himself for entry into active politics which means he’ll dump his journalism career anytime soon. His anticipated entry into politics is giving jubilee’s strategists hell of a time as this would change the whole picture and how politics is played in Kenya. Moha is seen leaning more towards the opposition leader Raila Odinga who’s also pumping to have his most crucial shot in the incoming presidential elections. The government’s operatives are more than shaken that Moha’s entrance into Tinga’s team will not only change the campaign game but also undo months and years of their ‘hardwork’. While it’s still not clear where Ali will be vying, sources close reveal he will be going for Nyali constituency seat. However, what’s giving the government’s wreath is his relevance in the larger national political scene.

There are genuine fears that Ali’s entrance into politics would shake the Muslim voting block and reshape their voting patterns. It is feared that his defiant voice will be more relevant to the discriminated Muslim society who feel less Kenyan and form a bigger voting block. Currently, the Muslim community lack a visible vocal advocate for their rights a void that Moha can easily fill and own. In the case this happens, the Muslim voting block will shift allegiance and now you see why the system is worried.

The Muslims have genuine issues they’ve been crying out on from unwarranted arrests to extrajudicial killings to isolation in development especially in the North Eastern regions which is also hit with lack of ID issuance epidemic. In general, the normal Muslim in the community has a genuine discriminatory issue to raise. These leaves them vulnerable to any strong voice to fight for their rights and space in Kenya, this is where Moha comes in and hell for the Jubilee government. Similarly, the youths, who forms majority of the population in Kenya and also eligible voters would easily identify with Moha. There are fears that a revolution would be sparked and who else would lead such a course of not fearless, respected head as Mohammed Ali. The youths of this country have often been told they’re the leaders of tomorrow, a day that never came and now going for the leadership posts themselves.

Have you ever thought the impact it would make if the youths of the country rose above limits to bring change? All that is needed are young blood courageous enough to start the fire and this what worries the jubilee operatives most as Moha seems from his frequent declaration that he’s at war with the dragging regime. They’re afraid he will influence the youths to rebel against the sitting government and gunner enough votes to ouster them from power. In the final analysis, Mohammed Ali has a national trustworthy face, thanks to his excellent jobs on the media that has earned him the trust from many Kenyans. Jicho Pevu, a show that he pioneered is seen as the truth speaker in Kenyan media, imagine that effect on politics. Moha as a public figure, currently enjoys a national level look, this will fuel a major boost to Raila’s campaign and duel major pain to the government who will now have difficult time in countering his influence.

According to talks in the CORD corridors, Moha is expected once making it official to joining politics to head a revolutionary team that will hold the government head on as the electioneering period catches fire.

There is unease in the government’s circles that Moha’s face as a trusted public figure would deal the jubilee team a major blow especially in the nation phase. Despite all the threats and attacks from obvious quarters, the fearless journalist is not getting off his seat anytime soon. His pursuance for justice that has put him in the bad books of the government doesn’t seem to be catching cold any minute as he comes out more defiant towards the current regime which he believes is dragging Kenyans back to the bad days. Should Moha be a worried man? I end it with his own words ‘You can’t kill a dead man, I’m ready to die. We will get back this country to where it should be’ “We will make this country great, one day”.

UHURU-CLOSE-UP1

The Hashtag #RaisMchapaKazi was started by state house directors to praise President Uhuru Kenyatta. It seems nobody wants to tell the King he is naked . The state house communication have become notorious and forgotten their role of communicating to Kenyans.

The PSCU team has been making serious communication plunders making Kenyans to question their role . Are they a propaganda tool  ? Shouldnt they be communicating to all Kenyans .

One Kenyan feels that PSCU communicates to 2 tribes while attacking the other 40 tribes . Their propaganda  has become unpalatable . Many Kenyans on Twitter have asked president Uhuru Kenyatta to disband PSCU but it seems the president doesnt know what he is doing .

The Hashtag #RaisMchapaKazi backfired because as a leader you should not be praised for doing what you are supposed to do. Let your achievements scream on their own .

Any PR guru will just need to check the Hashtag and fully comprehend that it tainted the presidents regime that has been criticized left and Right .

Check some Tweets from the Hashtag .

Cyprian Nyakundi –  Kenyan army profiting from illicit trade that props up al-Shabaab | via

Leon Lidigu –
who comes up with these PR stunts though .Afadhali nipewe lighter duties tu sasa

Stifler –  labda mseme kazi ni jina mpya ya Uwongo mingi. Well done government bloggers.

Kenyan Boy – Kenya has registered the lowest corruption cases in history, many corrupt people rotting in jail, billions recovered

Kenyan Boy – Kids have been issued with the laptops,Military equipped with modern warfare,Stadiums built in all counties as promised

Cofek Kenya –  is a little misplaced. The Head of State works through sera (policies). He has clear structures for execution and reporting

The Hashtag also received some support

Mengich – Whether you like him or not. He’s doing his best and he’s one of a kind president. You’ll miss him when he’s not in power

ItsMutai – On Friday President is set to launch National street lighting program across the nation mostly Mombasa at cost sh.224million

Kathure kiogora – as much as some people would like to differ i still think is really doing a good job

At the end of the day I believe somebody should not be praised for doing what they are supposed to do .

President Kenyatta’s clueless communication team should be communicating to Kenyans instead of propagandizing everything . You cant praise a president for opening a toilet
