This evening, Kenyan blogger Cyprian Nyakundi responded to numerous requests by his millions of followers to vie for a political seat in the country.
Nyakundi, who has previously expressed his disinterest in “dirty Kenyan politics” made a post on social media, responding to a fan who wanted him to join the race in the next elections and oust current Lang’ata Member of Parliament Nixon Korir who many residents have accused of underperformance.
In his Instagram post, Nyakundi threatened to jump in and save Lang’ata residents from Korir, whom he described as “DP Ruto’s lapdog”.
Just moments after he shared the post, Nyakundi received massive support in the comments section, with many Kenyans vowing to support his potential entry into politics.
A few weeks ago, radio presenter and comedian Felix Odiwuor expressed his interest in the same position and the possibility of the two extremely influential persons battling it out in 2022 has sent a considerable amount of excitement across social media.
