Bitter and frustrated feminists Betty Waitherero and Njeri Thorne are staring at a bleak future after Anne Waiguru hit a dead-end last week following an affidavit signed by her former hairdresser Josephine Kabura. Both feminists are said to be part of Waiguru’s advisory team, clearly reason why she is now staring at calamity. Because beyond twitter, these could as well be a bunch of attention-seeking nobodies.
First and foremost, Waitherero is reeling from her shock loss of control over KOT, after her simple friends came up with an idea of a KOT logo aimed at usurping the authenticity of discourse and purporting to own the virtual network of opinion. Clearly not the sharpest tools in the shed.
Contrary to preconceived notions and narratives peddled by a few misguided media operatives, Jubilee operatives aren’t as sophisticated as their big words or loud voices can mislead you into believing. Bribing a few journalists like Oliver Mathenge to paint enigmatic pictures of Jubilee leading lights is now outdated, as Kenyans have now discovered that media in Kenya is one big fraud.
For instance in the Kibaki-era, scandals were planned with surgical precision. Anglo-Leasing was conceptualised and a foreign agent Anura Perera was acquired. A fictitious office was registered in England in an elaborate scheme that involved top lawyers and accountants.
Compare that to the Jubilee-era thieves who carry cash down in basements using paper-bags and you realise that Uhuru and his cabal of agents are merely a bunch of children purporting to play in the big leagues. Their posturing or grand-standing in Galileo, the favourite hangout joint for Jubilee goons, and their big-talk gibberish about how Uhuru will rule for 20 years shows how misplaced their reality is, and how out of touch with the rapidly changing dynamics of the political landscape they are.
Is it even remotely possible to fight 21st Century warfare with 19th Century weaponry? Does Uhuru imagine that a bunch of misguided online impostors who were nobodies just 3 years back, will determine the editorial direction and shape opinion for his re-election bid? Does Uhuru solemnly believe that Windsor fundraisers spear-headed by old bootlickers seeking to attract his attention for jobs and tenders will impress his staunch supporters?
If Uhuru and his brother Muhoho honestly believe that the people currently surrounding them will bag them a re-election in 2017, then they’re truly messed up more than we had initially projected. Beyond help.
To be clear, all Kenyans are aware of the promises contained in the Jubilee Manifesto. We know what Uhuru promised. Anything short of that is just a waste of time. Telling us about Nairobi CCTV’s, Alcoblow, Beyond Zero, and other mediocre projects aimed at diverting our attention from the promises, is simply a waste of time. Tell such nonsense to children, not people who are clear in their minds about what they saw and read.
We will replay videos of all the promises Uhuru made, compress them and share them on whatsapp and even set them as ringtones, just for laughs. The reaction will be unanimous and will transcend tribe, religion or economic backgrounds. Don’t insult Kenyans intelligence by dispatching comedians or bribed-journos to sanitise your corruption. Implement the manifesto or prepare for an exit. Go hard or go home.
